Start a named grant
A batch, a family or one alumnus can set up a grant in a name that matters to them. The Trust holds the fund and pays the award every year.
How a grant is set up
- 1
Write to the Trust
Tell us the name of the grant, who it honours, and the award you have in mind.
- 2
Agree the terms
The Trust confirms the award amount, the number of awards a year, and any special rule.
- 3
Build the fund
Batchmates or family give to the fund of the grant. Every gift is on the public ledger.
- 4
The first award
The grant joins the next cycle. Its fund pays the award to the winner’s college fee account.
How much is enough?
A fund of ₹10 lakh sustains one ₹50,000 scholarship a year. A ₹25,000 award needs ₹5 lakh. A class or a person can endow more than one scholarship.
A smaller fund can still pay awards. It then uses up part of the fund each year, and the corpus board of the grant shows how many years it has left.
What the Trust does
- Keeps each grant’s money in its own ledger, with every gift, interest credit and award.
- Sends a receipt for every gift that reaches the bank.
- Runs the yearly cycle: the form, the eligibility checks, the panel and the results.
- Pays each award to the college fee account of the winner.
A family can also pay its award directly to the winner. The Trust then holds no fund for that grant.
